The construction of the new A40 link road from Carterton. The works incorporate 2.4km of new highway, plus associated distributor roads, roundabouts and junctions. The drainage consisted of large diameter concrete pipework with an invert depth of 7m. All excavations were within rock and had to be removed by breaker, consequently this allowed for the recycling of approximately 100,000t of the excavated material by crushing and screening to produce 6f2 material. The value of works to date is £10million.
